1.  What type of art does Exposure Gallery specialize in?
We specialize in fine art photography, contemporary oils and mixed media works.  All works featured online are for sale.

2.  What is a silver gelatin print?
A black and white photograph printed on paper coated with an emulsion consisting of gelatin and silver halide crystals. This method is currently one of the most popular way to produce black and white photographs.

3.  What is a giclee print?
The French word "giclé" is a feminine noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid. The word may have been derived from the French verb "gicler" meaning "to squirt".  Today, giclee prints are created typically using professional 8-Color to 12-Color ink-jet printers using archival quality inks which are fade resistance with museum quality framing.

4.  What is the advantage of giclee prints over silver gelatin prints?
Giclee prints are advantageous to artists who do not find it feasible to mass produce their work, but want to reproduce their art as needed, or on-demand as we do here at Exposure Gallery. Once an image is digitally archived, additional reproductions can be made with minimal effort and reasonable cost. The prohibitive up-front cost of mass production for an edition is eliminated. Archived files will not deteriorate in quality as negatives and film inherently do. Another tremendous advantage of giclee printing is that digital images can be reproduced to almost any size and onto various media, giving the artist the ability to customize prints for a specific client.  However that being stated, silver gelatin prints are still available.

5.  What is the quality of a giclee print?
The quality of the giclee print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries.

6.  Does Exposure Gallery custom size art?
Yes, as mentioned above, photography can be sized to fit almost any need, as well as be prepared on different types of media.

7.  What about fine art oils and mixed media pieces?
All of our artists are available for commission work, which would include creating a piece to your specifications.

8.  If I ordered a custom sized piece, what is the time for delivery?
For photography, normally 3-4 weeks.   For fine oils, mixed media, and custom work, it would depend on the type of work commissioned.

9.  I am working with an interior designer, does Exposure Gallery offer discounts to the trade?
Yes, we offer a generous discount.  Please call for more details.

10.  Do your offer Framing?
Yes

11.  Does Exposure Gallery ship art once purchased?

12.  One of your artists has an image I would love to use in advertising.  What is the protocol for using one of your images?
