Rob Lang

Rob Lang has been a professional photographer for the past 21 years. Born and raised in New York City and Long Island, Rob's passion for both city life and beach living is apparent in his work. He is a graduate of Syracuse University and also holds a Masters Degree from New York University.

His Dry Dock series began when Rob was living in East Hampton. A washed up rowboat on the beach near his home led him to the abstractions of decayed boat hulls.

The layering of paint, the transformation of animals and plants and the weathering of wood and metal became the subject for this wonderful body of work.

Abandoned shrimp boats and fishing boats are the subject for Rob's Katrina series, this time approaching the boat hulls as allegories for destruction.

Rob is currently working on a new series of images exploring the transformation of naval ship hulls.
